Builds Hub

A build in Splatoon Raiders is the triangle of tank + gadgets + weapon, not a weapon alone. The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive (released July 23, 2026) lets you swap scrap mains freely, but your ink tank locks which gadget pool you can equip. Start with two gadget slots; unlock a third as the tank ranks up. This hub routes you into each tank fantasy and the shared gadget rules.

Pair these pages with the Weapons Hub when you choose a main, and with the Tier List Hub when you want compressed rankings instead of full build notes.

Beginner recommendation: Power tank + Splatchet + Splatellites. It teaches dens without demanding perfect Flywire lines or Bombloon placements on day one.

How gadget slots work

Gadgets match the active tank. You cannot freely mix Speed Flywire into a fresh Power kit until progression expands your options. Early on, pick the tank whose two automatic gadgets already solve your deaths:

  • Dying in clumps → Power (Splatellites + Splatchet)
  • Dying to bad position → Speed (Blast Boot and later Flywire / Jump Bomb)
  • Dying while multitasking objectives → Tactical (Shot Pot + traps)

Full gadget text, unlock notes, and parts ideas live on Gadgets. Ranked opinions sit on the Gadgets Tier List and Tanks Tier List.

Building around weapons

Weapons drop in raids and level at Frye’s Weapon Stash with Spirhalite Shards. Regular weapons max at level 5; Primo weapons upgrade further. A build is unfinished if your tank is Ultra-ranked but your main is still a neglected two-star. Farm with habits from How to Get Weapons, then match class to tank using Weapon Types.

Quick synergy reminders:

  • Power loves Splatanas, Blasters, Dualies
  • Speed loves Splatlings, Chargers, Rollers, Stringers
  • Tactical loves Shooters, Brellas, Sloshers, and greedy melee with trap cover

Progression order that avoids rebuild pain

  1. Lock the beginner Power pair and clear story dens.
  2. Construct Hideout facilities so Frye can upgrade and eventually scrap.
  3. Develop missing gadgets at Shiver’s station with materials and Spirhalite ore.
  4. Rank the tank until the third gadget slot opens.
  5. Decide whether to stay Power or reroll into Speed / Tactical for your favorite weapon class.
  6. Move shard budget into a Primo that matches the final tank plan.

Difficulty modes change enemy strength only. Build quality—not Survivalist—decides whether loot-filled crates get opened before you wipe.

Co-op build etiquette

Local wireless and online co-op support up to four Raiders. Duplicate Power melee stacks can work, but mixed roles clear dens cleaner: one Tactical Shot Pot pocket, one Speed scout, one Power bruiser. Share crate routes using the Raid Checklist so nobody “optimizes” by skipping half the loot rooms.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best beginner build in Splatoon Raiders?

Power tank with Splatchet and Splatellites is a strong starter. It offers armor breaks and passive orbiting defense while you learn raids.

Can I mix gadgets from different tanks?

Gadgets match your active tank pool. You start with two slots and can unlock a third as the tank progresses; early kits stay within one tank's five gadgets.

Which page should I read first?

Start with Power Tank Builds if you are new, or Gadgets if you already picked a tank and need pairing rules.

Do builds change loot drops?

No. Builds change clear speed and survivability. Difficulty and tank choice do not alter weapon loot tables.
